  • Introduction and objective of finishing
  • Classification of Finishes- Temporary, Semi permanent and Permanent finishing                                                                                                 Mechanical & Chemical finishes.

  • Principle, methods, advantages and disadvantages, significance of different mechanical finishing processes -Calendaring, Stentering, decatising, carbonizing, milling, fulling, singeing, crabbing, and Compressive Shrinkage Processes, sizing, flocking, embossing.

  • Principle, methods, advantages and disadvantages, significance of different chemical finishing processes, Anti crease finishes, flame retardency /proofing,  water proofing & water repellency finishes, cross linking, permanent press, anti shrink finishing, soil repellency/ proofing

  • Brief description of bio-finishing, rot and mildew proofing of wool, application of softeners, enzymatic softening, organdie finish, milling of wool, moth proofing of wool, anti static finish, soil release finish, finishing of blends. Resin finishing, Denim washes

  • Foam Application Technology: Concept objective, range of application, principle, ingredients of a foam system, half life of foam, blow ratio, foam generator, foam applicator, merits and demerits.
