CO52. Develop basic child, adult bodice and sleeve blocks through measurement charts       CO53. Construct various samples of garment components and develop garment using garment details and basic blocks.         CO54. Compile comprehensive practical record and submission related to garment making CO55.  Develop and cultivate verbal communication skills to converse effectively with examiners.   CO56. Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion, PowerPoint Presentations, Informative videos and demonstration.

Self-learning assignments, and development of products.

Assessment tasks will include Class Test on the given topics, lab work, record book assessment,

Viva-voce, Attendance Assignment

 

CONTENT:

 

I: Drafting of Basic Blocks                                                                (10 Hours)

  • Bodice Blocks                                                                                                
  • Child’s and Adult’s Bodice Block
  • Sleeve Block                                                                                                  
  • Child’s Sleeve and Adult’s Sleeve Block
  • Skirt Block

II: Pattern making & stitching                                                           (40 Hours)

  • Necklines: Round, Square, V, Scalloped, Heart shape
  • Sleeves: Plain, Puff, Bell, Kimono
  • Collars: Peter pan, Shirt Stand or Chinese, Swinging or Roll,
  • Yokes: Round, V-Shaped and Shaped on (bodice & skirt blocks)

III. Product Development                                                                  (10 Hours)                          

Incorporate the above mentioned garment making detail techniques and to make A-line dress for a 2 year old girl.
