Course Content:
  • Introduction to needle work                                                         8 hrs
  • Selection of needle, frames, scissors, tools and tracing methods used in needle craft.
  • Embroidery on different types of textile materials (cotton, silk, jute)                          
  • Finishing of raw edges                                                               14 hrs
  • Techniques and Application of Running, overcasting, hemming.                                   
  • Stitches                                                                                        14 hrs
  • Flat stitch: Running, Back, Stem
  • Loop stitch: Chain, Feather, Button hole, lazy daisy
  • Knotted stitch: French knot, Bullion knot
  • Cross stitch: Herringbone stitch
  • Surface Ornamentation Techniques                                          14 hrs
  • Patch work, appliqué techniques, ribbon, beads, sequin and button work, mirror work                                                                     
  • Product Development                                                                10 hrs
  • Develop a product using any of the above mentioned techniques.
