Activity: Departmental Orientation Programme: GE and SE

Orientation Programme was planned exclusively for Generic papers for the student of B.Sc. Fashion Design Semester II and IV on 20th December 2017.

The objective was to orient the students regarding the optional papers in Generic category with focus on credit system and its importance. 

Towards the end of orientation session there was question answer session for students to clarify the doubts related to paper, students filled in the feedback form.

      Fashion Design Semester II

 

Ms. Ruchi Goswami, Assistant Professor from Department of Mass Communication of Journalism, briefed the students about the optional paper, Journalistic Writing (generic elective).The content and its importance in context to fashion was discussed. On the other hand, Ms. Aditi Singh, Assistant Professor from Department of Fashion & Textiles briefed about the Fashion Styling paper its content of benefits in context to fashion industry.

The forms for the optional papers were given to students which were duly signed, by parents and were deposited for records.

Fashion Design Semester IV  

     

Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Assistant Professor from Department of Bio Technology was invited for orientation of (Generic elective) Intellectual Property Right. He gave the brief introduction about course content of Intellectual Property Right and its importance in present scenario. He also explained about safety rules of original product registration which is beneficial for students of Fashion Design.

Ms. Garima Tiwari, Assistant Professor from Department of Fashion & Textiles explained students about (Generic elective) Visual Merchandising. She discussed about the importance of Visual Merchandising in the present Retail Management. She gave the brief introduction about the course content of Visual Merchandising and how Visual Merchandising play an important role for the fashion design students and it’s job perspectives.

Information regarding Skill Enhancement subjects i.e. Creative Textiles and Fashion Accessories were also given to the students of semester IV. Advantages and importance of opting these skill oriented papers were briefly explained to students so that they could select the paper according to their interest and develop skills..
