Date: 18.01.2017
Activity: Guest Lecture
Venue: A-501
The Department of Fashion and Textile Technology invited Ms. Swati Malik , Fashion Designer, Jaipur, for an interactive session on "Creative Conjuction from best out of waste”.
Ms. Swati Malik interacted with the students and guided them in creating new accessories and products using waste clothes, fabrics, papers and miscellaneous material. She even helped the students in practically creating accessories during her lecture.
She presented the refashioned accessories and ornamentations through power point presentation so that it becomes easy for the students to understand and identify the concept of refashioning. She even helped the students in practically creating accessories during the lecture . In all the guest lecture was eye opening & very interesting for the students of B.Sc. in Fashion Design - II Semester & M.A/M.Com/M.Sc. in Fashion Technology – II Semester .
Students also showed great interest in this activity. They made handcrafted and accessories like earrings, ruffles, tassels, key rings and other objects of household interest by using waste materials like wool, beads, threads, quilling sheets and junk jewellery.
It was a great treat and delight for the students as they were able to explore their creativity and imagination beyond the technical skills and theoretical knowledge.
This not only helped the students to explore and enhance their creativity but also chisel their brains and work in a productive way. Her theory of the “OUT OF THE BOX” gave the students a cutting edge and helped them adventure their creativity and embellish it with more intelligence and fun
Students of Fashion & Textile Department look forward to such lectures and seminars that break the monotony of regular and basic techniques and help them sharpen their brains & imagination.
