A Competition was organized by the Department of Fashion and Textiles for all students of The IIS University. The IIS University organized this competition in collaboration with M/s. Ashoka Creations, Jaipur. Ashoka Creations is a leading carpet manufacturer and exporter of silk carpets.
All students of university were requested to submit their designs on architectural theme on cartridge sheet. They were asked to submit their sheets to Ms. Sunetra Datt / Ms. Yogita Sharma by 30th Aug 2017.
There were announced a cash prize for the best three designs:
1. 1st Prize - Rs. 5100/-
2. 2nd Prize - Rs. 2100/-
3. 3rd Prize - Rs. 1100/-
Students of COSD Certificate, COSD Diploma, COSD Advance Diploma, Bachelor of Arts (Pass Course), Bachelor of Commerce (Pass Course), Bachelor of Commerce (H), Bachelor of Science (Pass Course), B.Sc. Fashion Design, B.Sc. Fashion Technology, Bachelor of Arts (Journalism Mass Communication), Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Visual Arts took participated in this competition and showed their enthusiasm and creativity.
Prize distribution ceremony was held at The IIS University, Jaipur, Department of Fashion and Textiles, for “Carpet Design Competition. The chief guest for the ceremony was Mr. Shobhit Jain, partner with ‘Ashoka Creations’, Jaipur. and Mr. Rishee Miglani, Actor & Model, who is also the brand ambassador of the “Ministry of Sports and Youth Affair of Rajasthan”, popularly tagged as the youth icon of Rajasthan.
All the designs were highly appreciated by the judges and the efforts done by the students under their teachers’ guidance. Three students were awarded Manya Gupta from B.Sc. Fashion Design Semester II First prize of rupees 5100/-, Gargi Garg from Advance Diploma in Fashion Designing Second Prize of rupees 2100/- and Mili Nimbark from B.Sc. Fashion Design Semester II Third Prize of rupees 1100/-. By participating in the competition students got an exposure to build their designing skills and how the students got a great success. The ceremony proceeded by the prize distribution of the carpet design winners followed by certificates distribution. Mr. Shobit Jain added that how they're looking for young talents for their firm and would be more than happy to take interns who are looking for learning about the process of carpet designing. It was an open interactive session, wherein the students interacted with the guests.
