Topic on which activity was organized:  Handloom and handicraft products. 

No. of Participants:  Approximately 60 faculty members and students participated in the activity.

Objective of the activity: To spread awareness about khadi, handloom & handicraft products.

Description: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Department of Fashion & Textiles organized an Activity “Selfie with Khadi” on 14th October 2023, with an objective to make them aware about the importance of khadi, handloom and other local products for our economy, ecology, women empowerment and to encourage them to adopt them. A selfie spot was made in the University campus and all teaching, non-teaching faculty members and the students from the university participated in this activity by wearing khadi clothing.

Outcome of the activity:

The faculty members and students got awareness about the quality and scope of Khadi products and discovered the beauty and versatility of Khadi and its historical and cultural significance.
